TRAILER TROUBLESHOOTING
There really shouldn't be any huge problems with the trailer but I will address what could happen (CANCER).
Trailer - AVI version
For the avi version, I have heard of several instances in which people would get about 10 seconds into the trailer and it would freeze up or that they would get only picture and no sound or some combination of these problems.
The best thing I can tell you to do is go to divx.com and get the very newest version of DivX. I know, I hear you saying "I already did that!" Well, do it again or something! I don't know what else to tell you.
The sad (or happy if you are smart) part about this is that if you can't get the trailer to work, there's little hope you'll be able to get the full movie to work. Sorry! Get a different computer. Or something.
Trailer - 3D Movie Maker version
If you are downloading the 3D Movie Maker version the only foreseeable problem I could think of would be the fact that nobody has 3D Movie Maker. If you actually have the program though, kudos to you! Everything should be hunky-dory.
MOVIE TROUBLESHOOTING
Dirty immigrant! There are problems with both versions! These are the ones we are aware of! If more problems are uncovered by muckrakers like you, we will address them here as well! View now!
Movie - AVI Version
THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THE .AVI AND IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN FIX SO I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT IT SO YOU CAN CRY ABOUT IT FOR A BIT BUT THEN ACCEPT IT AND MOVE ON:
The fades in the 3D Movie Maker program are utter shit and are not so much fades as they are pixel-by-pixel transitions. Evidently, this was a major effort for the computer that was used to make this .avi so every time there is a fade, the video and sound will get choppy and slow. Just let the movie run, it'll get past it and be JUSSSSS FIIIIIIIIINE. There are only a few times in the film (mostly near the end) where it actually affects the movie. It is unfortunate that it happens but OH WELL!
Oh, some of the text might be kind of hard to read too but don't worry about it. It's not very important.
Other than that, I imagine that the problems some people had with the trailer are ones that could definitely turn up for the full movie, that is to say, the movie freezing up or only the sound playing without video. Once again, download the newest DivX you can, sucka. That's all I got for you!
OH! ALSO! The computer that was used to convert this film to .avi form was apparently a better one than the one(s) we made the film on so some of the sound stuff (most notably the ending credits sequence) doesn't line up exactly as its supposed to. Sorry about that. Trust me, it was awesome when we first made it!!!
Oh, and if you really hate the whole "downloading the movie in 8 parts" deal for some reason, you can follow the directions to join our chat and request the movie from one of us in there, namely Ross or me (Joe!), because we have speedy connections. Actually, I personally will only send it to you when I am in college because that is when I have the speed but Ross will do it any old time! I think!!!
Movie - 3D Movie Maker Version
There are TWO ISSUES with this version that you really can't do anything about. I will tell you about them now.
ONE - We used a good deal of different fonts in this film. 3D Movie Maker allows you to use whatever fonts you have on your computer within the program and a bunch of the ones we used are really WHACKED-OUT. So! If you happen to have ALL the fonts we use, everything will be fine.
However, in the likely event that you do not have a certain font 3D Movie Maker will simply revert to the default font (which I think is Times New Roman) and will make it a lot smaller than it's supposed to be. Hopefully, you should be able to still read it. If not, don't worry because it's not all that important.
TWO - The film will run either faster or slower depending on if your computer is faster or slower than the computers we used to make the film on. That is the way of 3D Movie Maker. We used several different computers of varying speeds over the course of the film's development just to make it more annoying.
Anyhow, none of this should matter all that much except at parts where music is supposed to sync up a certain way. Anyway, not much I can do about it so whatever. Just so you know some of the crappy music-action mismatching isn't our fault. IT'S YOURS.
